Screenwriter’s job is to write scenes in such a way that ‘ a story can be told through visuals only’. Its cinema and what we expect in a film some beautiful scenes, some scenes which can be remembered.

Question comes , where do the dialogues come in the scene ? Are the unnecessary part of a film ? Are they have nothing to do with screen writing ?

What I think is  “ DIALOGUES SHOULD BE USED TO FILL THE GAP.TO ENHANCE THE IMPACT OF A SCENE BUT NOT AND NEVER TO CREATE A SCENE. ”

If you are using dialogue because you are unable to find out proper visuals that represents your insufficiency with the subject. And when I say visuals , it includes symbolic visuals too.

Words sometimes just takes away all the beauty of a scene. If you are using them to describe a situation, or to explain something , its like murdering the art which is called cinema.

Use them so that you can bring out the emotions which are already there in a scene, coming through visuals. Dont use them to bring the emotions.

And it is applicable for any genre of cinema. Where comedy, horror, romance or thriller.

And that the job of screenwriter to create scenes, and if necessary them write dialogues.

The problem is that here in India people think screen writer means, who writes story, script and dialogues as well. But no Screen writer cant write any dialogue if there is no moving scene. The germs of dialogue should be there. Screenwriter just gives them some vitamins and brings them out as strong as possible.

He cant create germs from out of nothing. As its universal law only nothing comes out from nothing.
